Located in a medieval hamlet in the heart of the Chianti countryside, this is another of JDB's most popular hotels. The owners continually invest in keeping the hotel in great shape. It also happens to be one of JDB's oldest (if not THE oldest) dating to the year 1030. While accommodations are air conditioned, many public areas are not.

The atmosphere here is relaxing and magical. Facilities include a beautiful outdoor pool, and indoor pool with a well-equipped gym and sauna, a great medieval looking bar (in the historical part of the castle) with easy access to the outdoor pool, and a FABULOUS restaurant. Excellent food and wine are important to this manager, and guests dining here are in for a treat. Meals are served outdoors during warm weather.

Included in the accommodations are two suites and six junior suites. All rooms are fully equipped and for families, there are connecting rooms as well as a bi-level junior suite with a lofted single bed. One of the rooms had a staircase which entered directly into the chapel as was probably occupied by the resident priest hundreds of years ago.

This is another of JDB's top selling hotels. Management is excellent and guests enjoy their time here.
