This beautifully restored palace dating to 1635 has only recently been converted into a hotel that opened in 2010, and a beautiful hotel it is. Situated in the historical center of Colle Val D’Elsa, one of the most important towns in the province of Siena and known for the production of lead-glass crystal. It was originally built by Archbishop Usimbardi as a hospital named San Lorenzo. Rooms are done in a clean, crisp décor – uncluttered with hardwood floors, marble bathrooms and all amenities. The hotel’s beautiful restaurant “Sopra le Mura” specializes in traditional Tuscan cuisine. There is also a bar “Caffe San Lorenzo” where guests can relax with an aperitif. Breakfast and lunch are served in an internal winter garden.
