Another creation of the owners of Il Falconiere, this small locanda, formerly an ancient olive mill, has only eight rooms and quite an attractive rate range. It is located in Montanare, just a few kilometers from the Etruscan town of Cortona. What began as a restaurant popular with the local inhabitants has evolved - under the guidance of the talented Silvia Regi Barrachi - into a place to sleep as well as to enjoy the traditional cuisine of Cortona. The eight guestrooms overlook the creek so that each guest is lulled to sleep by the relaxing sound of a waterfall. Each room is different and each reflects the characteristic style of the Cortona countryside. For those clients looking for a more reasonable rate, than is found in a full service hotel, the locanda could be the perfect answer.
