Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea, this adorable property is JDB's only four-star in Sorrento and has the feel of staying at the owner's home. There are eclectic collections of all forms of art, paintings, sculpture not to mention the stacks of books that are for the enjoyment of the guests as well as being a conversation piece. The kitchen is filled with ceramics that have been made especially for the hotel and they in themselves animate any breakfast or tea with their bright colors and fanciful designs.
Each of the 12 accommodations is different. In fact, the owner is the architect who has reinvented several well known hotels in the area with a fresh new look. There is a lap pool for the enjoyment of guests as well as several different areas where one can relax, enjoy a cup of tea or just read a book. It is an easy walk into the town of Sorrento from the hotel, a town filled with shops and trattorias. It is also a convenient place from which to take the train to Pompeii, a short and very economical ride or to take a boat to either Capri or Ischia.
The jewel in the crown here is the large sea view terrace which can be used for breakfast, afternoon tea or just to sit and stare at the sea. While there is no restaurant at the hotel, recommendations are plentiful.
