Palazzo Sasso has raised the standard of luxury on the Amalfi Coast with its $20 million three-year renovation of a villa dating to the 12th century. No expense was spared in the restoration. Guests who arrive in Ravello by private car are met by hotel staff in the town center and escorted to the hotel, while another member of staff looks after the car and luggage.

The view from the rooftop terrace (with lounge chairs and two jacuzzis) is spectacular, one that is enjoyed by many of Palazzo Sasso's accommodations. Decor throughout the hotel is refined and elegant. There are a number of comfortable areas where guests can sit and enjoy the view. And the staff is well trained and exceptionally accommodating. All rooms have individual climate control that allows Americans to find the "polar" air conditioning they seek year round! Bathrooms are sparkling white tile with gold fixtures. Every amenity is available - from magnifying mirrors to wash cloths. One of the most stunning accommodations at the hotel is the spacious Belvedere Suite, a stand alone suite with panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast. It is located a short walk from the hotel's breathtaking swimming pool (completed only after they found a spot that did not disturb the Etruscan ruins!).

The hotel offers a full-service spa with every imaginable treatment. There is also a boutique at the hotel. The food, presentation and service in the hotel's Michelin starred (2 stars) restaurant are almost too perfect to be believed. A full English breakfast and dinner are served on their beautiful outdoor terrace, weather permitting.

In 2009, Palazzo opened Sasso by the Sea, a private villa acquired by Palazzo Sasso that sits mere steps away from the pristine waters. Guests of Palazzo Sasso will have exclusive access to Sasso by the Sea daily with a free private shuttle operating from Palazzo Sasso to the seaside villa Sasso by the Sea's amenities include a heavenly salt water pool, lush gardens, one men's and one women's changing room plus two "relaxation living" rooms. No need to pack a lunch because on the peaceful terrace there will be a small restaurant serving local favorites including fabulous pizzas and seafood pulled directly from the waters surrounding the property as well as a full service bar. Follow a path through the gardens to find a stone staircase leading down to the replenishing waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Cut directly into the side of the cliff walls there are flat surfaced sunning terraces with lounge beds staggered on different levels off the staircase landings. The attentive staff of Sasso by the Sea will see to guests every need and will be stocked with everything one would desire to make a trip to the ocean a breeze.
