This is a do not miss on any Irish itinerary! The charm of historical Kinsale and its medieval fishing port combined with the elegant sophistication of Perryville House is unbeatable. Located across the street from the harbor, the house was built in 1815 by Capt. Perryville, who gathered ideas for the design of the house from his worldwide travels. The layout is similar to houses in the New Orleans' area with a first floor widows' walk. The present owners purchased the house in 1997, redesigned the interior of the house completely (saving two gorgeous chandeliers), and opened the first rooms that year. In 2001, the restoration of a former granary next door to Perryville House was completed adding four fabulous "Super Deluxe Rooms" (the size of junior suites) and one deluxe room. The super deluxe rooms have wonderful views of the harbor at Kinsale. The "cozy doubles" are quite small; therefore, JDB recommends superior double and higher categories for JDB clients. Every detail in every room is carefully planned and executed, apparent from the moment one enters the exquisitely furnished reception areas. European style buffet breakfast is included in the rates. Kinsale is recognized as the gourmet capital of Ireland, and there is a wide choice of restaurants nearby the hotel. There is also an excellent print shop as well as some fine art galleries in town, and the fabulous Old Head Golf Links Club is nearby.
