Relais Bella Rosina
N. Italy: Piemonte: Fiano (Turin)
Located approximately six km from Torino, this little gem borders the Parco della Mandria, which was at one time the hunting ground for King Vittorio Emanuele. The original building was used as a getaway place for the king and his bride Rosa Vercellana, hence the name La Bella Rosina. The property opened as a hotel in 2009 with an emphasis on ecotourism. The owner, who is full of wonderful ideas, has created both an oasis of calm for those wishing to relax as well as an active environment for those who wish to experience the Piemontese countryside. There are many things to do on the property- swimming in the hotel's beautiful large pool, mountain biking, golfing at nearby courses, cooking classes (their nashi jam is a "must try’ combination of a pear and an apple which is divine!). And for pampering, there is a small spa which is intimate and cozy.
The main restaurant with its beautiful terrace features organic produce grown on the property as well as organic meats. The emphasis is on healthy - and delicious - dining. The comfortably appointed and furnished rooms are lovely and have been created in what were formerly the stables. The 21 accommodations include one junior suite, and three suites. Rates here are very reasonable.
