Situated overlooking the vineyards of Gavi and its own private parkland and golf course and just minutes from the Serravalle outlet center where all the best designers have boutiques, this beautiful Liberty-style villa has been totally renovated and transformed into a boutique hotel managed by the inimitable Marisa Giuliano.
During the 19th century, the villa was the residence of a member of the royal family and it maintains that atmosphere today. The rooms feature Murano chandeliers, hardwood floors and marble bathrooms with separate tub and shower. Included among the rooms are two beautiful suites and two junior suites. Rates are some of the best available in any JDB hotel.
The bar offers a wide variety of top beverages, and the hotel’s excellent chef serves meals on the terrace (weather permitting) and features specialties of the Piemonte region. Tours to nearby vineyards are available and organized by the incomparable Giovanni Caprino, Marisa’s husband, who has joined her in the venture. A pool is expected to open in spring 2011.
For those looking for reasonable room rates, this could serve as a base to visit Valenza (Marisa has connections with one of the manufacturing jewelers there), Genoa, and even the Portofino Coast is an easy drive.
