Wow! This is a show stopper! Located beside the Quirinale Palace in the heart of Rome, this beautiful villa in its understated but luxurious elegance is going to blow away the competition. Named by the London Telegraph as one of the most important hotels in the world (!), it is a dimora storica so no stars and until a few years ago, it was the private residence of Count and Countess Spalletti. It is about as elegant and tasteful as a villa can be, furnished with antiques and paintings from the count's private collection.
Built in 1901, the villa underwent a 2 1/2 year renovation. Each accommodation is different with either king or twin beds, upholstered walls, and linens feature the crest of the Spalletti family. There are 12 accommodations, each named for an area of Rome with the corresponding map in the room. Each is equipped with internet connection, mini-bar, and flat screen televisions. Elegant small details include a leather "Do Not Disturb" sign to hang on the door and a lucite encased "No Smoking" reminder. There is even WIFI in the garden!
The villa's spa is a great way for guests to relax and experience unique holistic treatments. There is also a small fitness center in the wellness area. The restaurant with its wonderful chef, Pasquale (a dangerous friend to have because of the calories!), is just for the enjoyment of the villa's guests. The restaurant is not open to outsiders. The public rooms on the ground floor are exquisite. There is nothing more to say. This is a very special place for very well-mannered clients who want to enjoy the feeling of exclusivity, like being the guests in the home of a very chic count and countess.
