JDB Tours do not have to be booked in conjunction with a hotel booking, private villa or apartment rental. Tour itineraries are subject to change due to site closings, inclement weather, strikes or other unforeseen circumstances. JDB Ground reserves the right to substitute a venue or site during a tour in the event the scheduled site is not available. In rare instances it may be necessary to reschedule the starting time of the tour; in such situations, clients will be notified in advance.
Entrance fees to museums and exhibits are not included in the rate unless indicated, nor are gratuities for drivers and guides. Unless otherwise indicated in the tour description, tours begin at 9:00 a.m. and are available daily. The guide will meet clients at their hotel, unless another meeting point is designated in the itinerary. Rates are subject to change.

Tequila Tour
7 Hours
The town of Tequila, made famous by the drink it produces, was recently declared a Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. It is nestled in a valley surrounded by Agave fields, about an hours' drive from Guadalajara. Tour the Agave fields to learn more about the plant used in making Tequila and its harvesting by field workers. Then visit a boutique Tequila distillery, learn the step by step Tequila making process, and enjoy a tasting of the various types of Tequila produced. Lunch will be at a typical Mexican restaurant (additional charge), followed by free time to shop or explore the city before returning to Guadalajara.

Lake Chapala
7 Hours
Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake, is where many wealthy Mexicans have weekend and summer homes and retirees from around the world have settled. The town of Chapala is a pleasant 45 minute drive from the center of Guadalajara, and from its boardwalk you will embark on a short boat ride on the lake. Then travel to Ajijic, a charming lakeside village that has retained all of the charms of Old Mexico. The local craftsmen and artists produce truly unique items, displayed either in small galleries or open-air style. Enjoy a delicious meal overlooking the lake (additional charge), then visit Mt. Coxala for a beautiful view of Lake Chapala. There will be free time for shopping in Chapala before returning to Guadalajara.

Guachimontones Pyramids
5 Hours
Guachimontones is the nickname given to the circular architecture found at Teuchitlán, one of the first settlements in central Jalisco. These concentric pyramids, over two thousand years old, are unique in the world. Begin your tour at the Cultural House in Teuchitlán to see some of the objects recovered from these ancient sites. Then tour an archaeological site where the predecessor of the soccer game was played and also where the fundamental steps of pre-Hispanic dances were practiced. Before returning to Guadalajara, visit an ancient workshop where the Obsidian stone, a glassy volcanic rock which formed the basis of the ancient economy, is crafted.
