JDB Tours do not have to be booked in conjunction with a hotel booking, private villa or apartment rental. Tour itineraries are subject to change due to site closings, inclement weather, strikes or other unforeseen circumstances. JDB Ground reserves the right to substitute a venue or site during a tour in the event the scheduled site is not available. In rare instances it may be necessary to reschedule the starting time of the tour; in such situations, clients will be notified in advance.
Entrance fees to museums and exhibits are not included in the rate unless indicated, nor are gratuities for drivers and guides. Unless otherwise indicated in the tour description, tours begin at 9:00 a.m. and are available daily. The guide will meet clients at their hotel, unless another meeting point is designated in the itinerary. Rates are subject to change.

Secret San Miguel

Experience the true spirit and charm of San Miguel on this walking tour of its historical center that includes not only its well known sites, such as the Parroquia church (with a special visit inside its sacristy), Allende's House and the Bellas Artes, but also a selection of unusual gems seldom visited by tourists: the Holy House of Loreto, a replica of the house of Mary in Bethlehem, with its exquisite chapel; a 300 year old house; a private gallery with works by Frida Khalo, Diego Rivera and other Mexican painters; a peek inside city hall, with its 250 year old jail; an artist’s home; a hidden jewelry shop; a mask museum, and more. Although the secret places visited depend on their availability the day of the tour, our enthusiastic guide will ensure your tour is fun and memorable.

San Miguel Culinary Adventure
3 1/2 Hours
Enjoy a tour of San Miguel's colorful produce market with Chef Paco Cárdenas, who will teach you how to shop like a pro! Meet the local vendors, enjoy tastings of traditional snacks, learn about unfamiliar items, and capture it all with your camera. Then proceed to Paco's house to learn how basic ingredients can be used in many delicious ways. Prepare two dishes with produce purchased in the market – perhaps squash blossoms, nopales or chayote squash – depending on what is in season. Learn to make sopecitos with fresh corn dough, and fill them with various fresh salsas you have made and cheeses from the market. Then enjoy what you have prepared along with other typical dishes for lunch or dinner.
Rate Per Person: $122
Clients meet Chef Cárdenas in the Plaza Civica for the walking tour of the market, are transported to the chef's home where classes are held, and returned to their hotel at the end of the class. Includes either lunch or dinner and a packet of recipes.

Traditional Cuisine of Mexico

Learn to taste, smell and feel Mexican culture through its vibrant cuisine. Under the expert guidance of Chef Paco Cárdenas, you will learn to cook some of Mexico’s most wonderful homemade dishes such as Mole, Chilies Rellenos, Tortilla Soup, Pozole or beef and pork Tinga, using authentic Mexican recipes, traditional techniques and ingredients in season. Prepare three dishes: a soup and a main course, and either an appetizer, salad, or a dessert, depending on seasonal availability of ingredients. Then enjoy what you have made for lunch or dinner in a beautiful and relaxed setting overlooking San Miguel.
