Set in 7100 hectares of land in the Montalcino area, Castello Banfi il Borgo is one of the most important wine producers in Tuscany with an annual production of 13 million bottles (remember that this is the area where the super-Tuscan Brunello di Montalcino wines are produced).

The property's 14 rooms and suites in the castle's borgo range in size up to 100 square meters (Riserva Suite #27) and are beautifully appointed, many with huge "Hollywood-size" bathrooms with a huge separate shower, and two to three windows per room plus a window in the bathroom. The Wine Suite is unique in that guests booked there can sleep in close proximity to bottles of the rarest vintages of Banfi's famed brunello wines. (They are under lock and key just in case someone has the idea they are disposable!)

In addition to the impressive 9th century castle which is home to the owners, the property offers La Taverna Banfi - a perfect place to try some authentic Tuscan cuisine! It is open for lunch and dinner and offers a convivial, but not too formal, ambience. Also available: 3 to 5 course tasting menus paired with wonderful Banfi wines.

The Enoteca is amazing! It is huge with one side for buying and one side for tasting and now offers Tuscan snacks such as hams and delicious cheeses. Amenities include a large swimming pool and a fitness room, as well as lots of countryside activities including horseback riding, hot air ballooning, hiking, and biking. During cooler weather, a reading room with a huge fireplace welcomes guests. Other things of interest on the property are an antique glass museum and historic balsameria (they sell outstanding balsamic vinegar!). This property is an amazing choice for gourmands and oenophiles, as well as weddings and families.
